Junior Cup win over Portrush
Congratulations to Kevin McGonagle and his Junior Cup team as they overcame Portrush 3-2 on Sunday afternoon in a tense battle.
The split-venue saw Portrush hosting three games with home advantage. Davitt Walsh led out the side for Portsalon on the famous Dunluce layout and he put an all-important point on the board, winning 2&1.
Dermot Shields went down battling 3&2, while Kevin Boyce was in a scrap to the wire but was defeated on the 18th green.
Back on home soil, Cian Page recorded a 2&1 success while Daniel Shields was all-square after 18 holes and had to go the extra miles, with his victory on fourth playoff hole swinging the tie in Portsalon's favour.
Congrats to Kevin and his team on a fine result, with four Portsalon Junior Cup debutants and a teenager lining out!
