Captain's Drive-In
The newly installed Portsalon Captains – Pat Horner and Noreen McConigley – will have their Drive-In on Sunday 12th February.
The format is a shotgun start, teams of four, at 10.30am. Members can book their fourballs on BRS as normal and starting tees will be assigned on Saturday night for the Drive-In.

Portsalon Ladies Golf Notes
Portsalon Ladies held their AGM on Saturday 14th January and outgoing Lady Captain, Claire Ferry, reflected on her year. She thanked the members, committee and the team captains, who supported her throughout 2023. Among the many highlights, included the captain’s outing to Greencastle, her Captain’s Day and in particular, taking part in the Intermediate Team All-Ireland finals for the first time in the club’s history was a fantastic achievement and one that she hoped would be repeated in the not-too-distant future.  She was delighted to help Noreen McConigley, adorn the captain’s black jacket for a second time, having previously held the post with honour in 2012.  Wishing her well, she added Noreen’s experience, enthusiasm and knowledge will be a great asset to Portsalon in the year ahead.
Lady Captain, Noreen thanked Claire for the opportunity, the committee in advance for their work and said she was looking forward to her year as Captain. As a local woman, she felt privileged to play in Portsalon and encouraged the members to play as much golf as possible, and to enjoy their game on the banks! She wished Lady Vice Captain, Roisin McCormack, Mr Captain, Pat Horner, Vice Captain, Brendan Cullen, President, Donal Callaghan, and the members a fit and healthy new year.

Captains lead the way!
Outgoing Lady Captain, Claire Ferry, finished off her Captain’s year in style by winning the first members competition of 2024 and her final competition as Lady Captain with a fine round of 39pts. While the newly appointed, Lady Captain, Noreen McConigley, started her tenure with equal aplomb, claiming runners-up spot on the 15th January with 33pts, and winning the members competition on Sunday past with 36pts, a great score considering the very windy conditions! Well done.

Augusta Neff wins in Portsalon
Congratulations to Augusta Neff, North West Golf Club, who claimed victory at the Portsalon Ladies Winter Links with a fantastic 43points. Closely followed by Eileen Reilly, 41points and Brid McMenamin, 37pts from Ballybofey & Stranorlar Golf Club.
