Portsalon Ladies bound for Westport and All-Ireland last four
Everyone at the club would like to wish our ladies well this coming Friday (September 22nd) as they travel to Westport GC in Co Mayo for the AIG Women's Intermediate Cup All-Ireland semi-final. The Ladies will be in action on Friday morning in the last four, with the All-Ireland decider slated for Saturday. The team did remarkably well to come out of Ulster this summer, winning some epic battles along the way against Bushfoot, Ballybofey, Newtownstewart and Kilrea before their nail-biting 3-2 win in the provincial decider against Dunmurry in Antrim last month. The followed up with a comprehensive success against Black Bush GC from Dunshaughlin in Co Westmeath at Dundalk GC in early September. The Portsalon team are captained by Roseanne Logue, with the playing panel including Deirdre O'Toole, Deirdre Hensey, Sarah Nicholl, Roisin McCormack Aedeen Conway, Marian Overend and Lady Captain Claire Ferry. We know there will be plenty supporters travelling to Westport for Friday's semi-final to support the ladies and we wish everyone a safe journey to the west and back. Play well, ladies – the club is behind you! We will have the latest news from Westport on social media when play gets underway on Friday. Club Matchplay Finals Our Club Matchplay doubles final has reached the final stages and it's a game of Family Fortunes.
